Back in early 2000s, a couple of American tourists decided to visit Costa Rica and were mesmerized by the beauty and richness of the country’s biodiversity. After a couple of trips, they had conceived the idea of an exciting project that involved bringing groups of tourists to behold what this country has to offer. In 2016, the first formal tour was launched in partnership with Tour With Purpose, and the project was so successful that it has been continually implemented up to this day. Recently, Tour With Purpose has been focusing on a broader target population, and more itineraries to show the beauty of Costa Rica, keeping in mind our philosophy: providing not only a recreational private trip, but also the reflection and learning that a tour to a new world can offer: culture, not-before-seen species, local people, etc, with specialized guides that will share important knowledge and anecdotes. Discover Costa Rica like never before! From lush rainforests and waterfalls to leatherback turtles and humpback whales, this itinerary takes you on an unforgettable journey through nature, adventure, and breathtaking views.

1. La Paz Waterfall Gardens (Animal Refuge)

Immerse in the authentic rain forest, the main animal refuge in the country will let you enjoy the exhibition of many of the different species that inhabit the Costa Rican jungle before we encounter many of them in the wild, while enjoying gorgeous gardens and a beautiful series of waterfalls.

2. Tortuguero National Park

Join us in search of the amazing leatherback turtle in this charming location over the Caribbean, with one of the most important national reserves for the conservation of marine turtles and jaguars. Be prepared for a relaxing boat ride on serene waters! We will be surrounded by the breeze of the Caribbean coast and the Tortuguero Lagoon, while staying in a lodge with a over-the-lagoon restaurant.

3. Monteverde

We’ll travel to the Northern mountains to enjoy different activities like nature walks, aerial tram ride, and zip lining that will let you admire breathtaking views from above!

4. Bahía Ballena Marine Reserve

If you thought we had enough fun, get ready to head for the Southern Pacific to experience this amazing tour in search of the humpback whales that travel from the Southern Hemisphere to the warm waters of Costa Rica to give birth and prepare their offspring for the journey back home. Enjoy the great ocean view from our hotel, with open-view restaurant and infinity pool.

5. Talamanca Southern Range.

We’re preparing to take our journey back to the outskirts of San José and the Central Range, but before that, we will go through the Southern Range and stay at a peaceful nature-packed lodge along the way.

6. Central Range

Get ready to get back to the outskirts of San José to visit our National Museum and get a farewell dinner with special show on of the best lookout sites to the city!

We’ll visit the Northern area of Costa Rica, with one of the most emblematic and beautiful volcanoes of the country, the Arenal Volcano, with exciting adventure activities, zip lining, horseback riding and hanging bridges over the jungle. You will also learn about local agricultural activities at a very entertaining site for recreation and in-field farm education in the area.

3. Punta Leona

Central Pacific. We leave the Northern area to enjoy some time at the beach in this gorgeous location, that will serve as a mid-point for our trip to get to the exciting tour at the South Pacific.

4. South Pacific

We will settle down for a couple of days at Drake Bay, but before that, we will enjoy a great cocoa tour on the way down. Our beachfront hotel will serve as a middle point to help us reach one of the reserves with highest biodiversity In the world, the Corcovado National Park! Be prepared for great flora and fauna sightings with professional guides, including a world-class snorkeling tour.

5. Talamanca Southern Range.

Our stay at a peaceful nature-packed lodge will allow us to do our quest for the famous quetzal, one of the most beautiful birds in the world, and behold many other beautiful species and breathtaking landscapes.

6. East Central Range

We will take a look at one of the most important volcanoes of the country, Irazú Volcano, and will learn from one of most the ancient aqueducts of the pre-Colombian history at the Guayabo National Monument, while enjoying the gorgeous views in the area.

7. West Central Range

We return to the outskirts of San José city for yet more thrilling activities: Aerial Tram, coffee tour and farewell dinner with special show and breathtaking view of the city!
